Our FSC certified play bark is an excellent quality, long lasting play grade bark made from pure British pine.
With a particle size of 18-35mm, our play area bark provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing play surface for children. It has a chunky and soft texture ensuring high impact absorbency for busy public playgrounds as well as domestic garden play areas.
This pine play bark is sustainably sourced and is EN 1177:1998 and BS 4790:1977 certified – guaranteeing the highest safety standards.
Our yard is based in Paddock Wood, Kent and we provide delivery to all local surrounding areas including Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Crowborough, Burwash and Cranbrook etc.

“Why not use normal bark in my children’s play area?” we hear you ask. Well, absolutely, you could. But our play grade bark has been specifically processed and tested with children’s safety in mind.
The bark is screened to remove larger, rougher particles to lower the chance of injury and splinters. The finer dust particles are also screened out to reduce irritation. It is then treated and tested to make sure it is fire-resistant. And, when used correctly, the shock absorption qualities reduce the risk of serious injury – so important when you consider those inevitable trips and overzealous jumps!

For effective cushioning:
100mm depth is ideal for fall heights up to 1.5m
300mm depth is recommended for fall heights up to 3m
5. Does play bark help with weed control?
Yes. When used as a mulch, it acts as a natural barrier, helping suppress weed growth while also retaining soil moisture.
6. How long does play bark last?
On average, it lasts 2–3 years, depending on the level of use and weather exposure. Regular raking and occasional top-ups help extend its life and maintain a neat appearance.
7. Is it pet-safe?
Yes, it’s safe for pets and contains no harmful chemicals. It’s also suitable for use in dog runs or areas where pets are active.
8. Will it decompose or break down?
Yes. As an organic material, play bark naturally breaks down over time, which also helps to improve the soil beneath it. Topping up every couple of years is advised.
9. Does it stain clothing or surfaces?
Not usually. Corker’s play bark is screened to reduce dust and loose residue, so staining is minimal. However, some transfer may occur with wet clothing or shoes.
10. Can it be used in flower beds or borders?
Yes. While designed for play surfaces, play bark also works well as a decorative mulch for garden beds, offering weed control and moisture retention.
11. How much do I need?
The amount required depends on your play area’s size and depth:
A 1m³ volume typically covers around 10m² at 100mm depth.

Drop Off Delivery
There is a £40 delivery charge for orders without a bulk bag in our local zone. When a bulk bag is added to the cart, the order will qualify for free local delivery and the £40 charge will automatically be removed.
Pallet Delivery
For deliveries outside of our local zone (17-mile radius of Paddock Wood) we send items out via a trusted third-party courier service. The price for pallet delivery outside our zone is £72.00 (2-3 days).
Parcel Delivery
Orders weighing less than 30kg will be sent via a trusted third-party courier service. The price for a parcel under 30kg is £14.40 (2-3 days) and £15.99 (next day).
