Product Description
Due to a combination of a finer grade (dust to 10mm) and a naturally high marl content, this limestone gravel is self-binding with excellent compaction qualities. This perfect formula results in an ideal material for areas with heavy traffic and pedestrian use: driveways, car parks, cycle and bridle paths, public parks, and golf courses.
Popular for its pleasant amber colour, durability and ease of application, Golden Path Gravel is commonly used on the grounds of stately homes, and on National Trust and English Heritage sites.

Use one type to create a uniform theme, use two or three in different areas to create contrast, or think totally outside the box and mix products together!
All of our gravel, pebbles, shingle and chippings have a long lasting mulching effect. A layer of stones will insulate soil and improve drainage in cold, wet weather, and provide root shade and aid water retention in hot weather. Hard mulches are also brilliant at stopping weeds in their tracks, meaning you have more time to spend on the gardening jobs you enjoy.
Our decorative aggregates are suitable for driveways, paths, borders, rockeries, water features and much more.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Golden Path Gravel?
Golden Path Gravel is a decorative 10mm aggregate known for its warm golden-yellow tones. It’s perfect for creating attractive, compacted pathways and borders with a natural, sunlit appearance.
2. What colour is it?
The gravel features a mix of soft golds, honey tones, and light browns, adding warmth and character to both modern and traditional garden schemes.
3. What size is the gravel?
Each stone is graded to around 10mm, making it small enough for easy compaction underfoot, but large enough to provide texture and drainage.
4. Where can I use it?
Golden Path Gravel is ideal for:
- Garden and woodland paths
- Courtyards and seating areas
- Borders and edging
- Low-traffic decorative driveways
- Paving joint infill or resin-bound systems
5. Is it suitable for driveways?
It can be used for light-use driveways or decorative vehicle access, but due to the smaller size, it may shift under repeated heavy use. A compacted sub-base and stabilisation grid are recommended for best results.
6. Does it help suppress weeds?
Yes. When laid over a weed control membrane, Golden Path Gravel provides a low-maintenance finish that discourages weed growth while remaining permeable for rainwater.
7. Is it comfortable to walk on?
Yes. Its rounded edges and small size make it comfortable underfoot, making it an excellent choice for footpaths, barefoot areas, or around patios.
8. Will it fade or change colour?
The natural golden tones may appear brighter when wet and more muted when dry, but the gravel is not artificially coloured, so it won’t fade with exposure to sunlight.
9. Is it pet- and child-friendly?
Yes. It’s a natural, non-toxic material that is safe for use in family gardens, including areas where pets and children play.
10. How much will I need?
For an average coverage at 30–40mm depth, 1 bulk bag (approx. 850kg) will cover around 8–10m². Always measure your space to estimate the exact quantity required.
