What Are Coping Stones And Do I Need Them?

Coping stones are flat and slightly curved or angled pieces of stone that are fitted to the top of walls for a professional finish, to strengthen the construction and also act as a protective cap. They prevent water ingress, thus reducing structural damage caused by erosion and the expansion of tiny mortar cracks that occurs when water freezes. They are essential if you want to maximise the life of your wall with minimal maintenance.

Coping stones are not only functional though, they come in a range of profiles, complementary colours and materials to match your natural stone wall, adding a beautiful finishing touch. The icing on the cake, you could say.
